Scratch that nice letter

Alabama Policy Institute Home Page...conservative think tank.: "'Private property shall not be taken for, or applied to public use, unless just compensation be first made therefore; nor shall private property be taken for private use without the consent of the owner' Alabama Constitution of 1901, Sec. 23, Eminent domain."

The preceeding blog entry was about Governor Riley "protecting" Alabamians from the most recent SCOTUS screwup of legislation from the bench. But... Guess what? In Alabama we have been protected from this by our constitution since 1901.

So what does this mean? This means that Governor Riley is going to protect us by softening our constitution to allow factories and the likes to steal our property.

"As a man is said to have a right to his property, he may equally said to have a property in his rights." James Madison.

Get a grip Governor Riley! We see what you're up to.
