Polar ice may vanish in 5-7 years

Gore: Polar ice may vanish in 5-7 years - Yahoo! News

It amazes me that this liar is still spouting his total fabrications unchecked. Polar ice is thicker than it has ever been...

http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20091214/ap_on_sc/climate_gore

"It is hard to capture the astonishment that the experts in the science of ice felt when they saw this," said former U.S. Vice President Gore, who joined Scandinavian officials and scientists to brief journalists and delegates. It was Gore's first appearance at the two-week conference.

http://wattsupwiththat.com/2009/04/09/wuwt-ice-survey-shows-thickening-arctic-ice/

The data is collected from the US military web site http://imb.crrel.usace.army.mil. All of the active military buoys show significant thickening ice over the past six months to a year, as seen below.

http://www.greenhousetruth.com/blog/2007_11_6_ice.shtml

In contrast to the Arctic, the extent of sea ice in the Antarctic has come close this year to breaking its satellite-monitored record for maximum area of 16.03 million sq km.
It's funny how these things get lost in the fine-print. The media, although in virtual obscurity, did concede that Antarctic ice is thickening. But what's also disturbing is how many in the counter-climate-change-crowd have been guilty of not looking at the whole story either.

House Passes Broad Wall Street Regulatory Overhaul

FOXNews.com - House Passes Broad Wall Street Regulatory Overhaul

This is terrifying. Our government is trying to pass legislation to allow them to take over any business they want. We have got to stop this madness. This is totally outside the scope of the constitution. The federal government has no authority to take over private businesses. They had no authority to do what they did to GM and Chrysler and now the banking industry is next.

We are getting close to the time when we have to tell our government no. No! The further we let it slide toward the abyss the harder it's going to be to stop it. If they think a million people protesting in DC this passed summer was bad they need to remember that all they had were signs last time. We The People are in charge. We need to remind them.

In this piece of legislation no GoP voted for it and even the Dems couldn't get all of theirs to vote for it. We have to stop this before it escalates to something that cannot be solved in a peaceful manner.

UN talks: Rich nations must make big emission cuts - Yahoo! News

The very idea that you must consider whether a nation is 'wealthy' or not tells the whole tale on this issue. This is about fleecing the Western world in order to finance the world socialist agenda.

"COPENHAGEN – Wealthy nations would commit to drastically reduce greenhouse gas emissions in the next decade, and the world should strive to nearly eliminate them — or at least cut them in half — by 2050 under a draft text circulated Friday at the U.N. climate talks."

Liberal Group Puts Bounty on Head of Chamber of Commerce CEO

This is a typical liberal response. Do you remember when liberal meant open minded and above all liberated? Progressive used to refer to motion in a positive direction as well and now it just means socialist.

You are invited to be open minded as long as your open mind agrees with their views. The very idea that The Chamber of Commerce has been black balled by the Obama administration from all jobs creation talks is absurd. They represent more businesses than any other organization in the country.

The administration is not personally asking for mud on this guy but you can bet they will follow up on any overturned dirt. If you and your company are not members of The Chamber of Commerce please join now and make sure to let them know that it is in support of their common sense opposition to the economy and job killing efforts of Obamacare and Cap and Tax.

Carbonhagen: World Leaders Drive to Climate Summit in Gas-Guzzling Luxury Fleet - International News | News of the World | Middle East News | Europe News - FOXNews.com

The important thing to remember here is that none of the people in charge of this thing believe they should be subject to the rules. They are elitists and thugs seeking to fleece all wealthy nations in order to steal a little bit on the way while they finance the poor. Simply put they are more important than us little guys and smarter too.

Winter Weather Advisory

A Severe Winter Weather Advisory has been issued. The catastrophic nature of the collision of these forces may well create the perfect storm. The perfect ice storm that is.

A Crimson Tide has swelled so high in Atlanta, GA. that the runnoff has very nearly destroyed Florida. Gainsville Florida was completely devastated.

The confluence of this event with the freezing over of Hell, set upon by the amazing victories of the New Orleans Saints, could cause an ice cap that would first flood and the freeze the entire sporting world.

The Tide is still rising and the frost machines are still blowing into Hell directly from New Orleans. Hold on to your parkas and sleds. January is going to be a hell of a ride.

Smart Economic Stimulus

This bill would be less than 100 pages long and would create a boom in The US economy like we have never seen. Allowing men to use their minds to create wealth and jobs will work much quicker than growing the government.

This would also put the rest of the world on notice that we are no longer the United States of Charity. We would no longer be the big bad pushy US any more either. We wont bother you if you don’t bother us.

Term Limits, Two terms in The House and two in The Senate.

Reduce The House of Representatives to 235 from 435 members.

Return Congress to the concept of a part time job. Meeting once every quarter to see if any legislation is needed. We have enough laws already.

Abolish all income-based taxes.

Raise the age to receive medicare/caid and SSI to 68.

Abolish the IRS, ATF, NEA and about forty other government agencies that are outdated and pointless.

Cut funding of the United Nations by 75%.

Bring our troops home as soon as possible. No more world police force that is what NATO is for.

Reinstate the draft. Everyone goes, no exceptions other than severe handicap. One year Active Duty and five years reserve or guard after that.

Pass a five percent federal sales tax that can NEVER be raised. No exemptions for anything of any kind other than food.

Create a federal lottery

Ban all taxes on food.

Ban all public funding for non-emergency services to illegal aliens.

Deport every felon that is here illegally.

Decriminalize marijuana.

Drill baby drill. ANWR, the outer shelf or anywhere there is oil or natural gas.

Climate change data dumped - Times Online

Climate change data dumped - Times Online

These guys at the CRU are the honchos of Climate Change. They freely admit that the data has to be massaged and homogenized (adjust numbers and throw contrary data) in order to prove that the Earth is warming.

Here we start out with a guess that the Earth may actually be warming when most scientists think that it is actually cooling. Over the last 50 years the temperature has fallen about a half a degree. We have actual records of that not hypothesis.

Even though we are not even sure that there is a global warming or a global cooling going on we have decided that we know what is causing it… err, the warming I mean. Never mind that we’re not sure it is going on.

The part of the Earth that we inhabit and have an effect on is more like the shell of an egg. Humans are minuscule in their occupation of the Earth and effect on it. The truth is that the Earth warms and cools in a gentle cycle and has for millions of years. Ice ages have come and gone and will probably come again before warming occurs and the truth is that we as humans can’t do anything about it. We will cool over the next thirty years not warm according to most science on the subject.

The important thing to remember here is that any time you see what appears to be a contradiction you have to reassess your premise. When the premise conflicts with the actual outcome… Follow the money. The burden of proof should always be on the side of the objective. I cannot prove that there is no man made global warming and the truth is that no one can prove that there is.

Call your congressman and demand that they vote against any laws promoting Cap and Tax.

Positive Change

Change can be good as long as you have a good idea what is broken and how the change will fix it.

All too often we confuse motion with progress. A great example of this is the mantra of the current health care reform debate. The premise that health care has to be reformed is built upon by saying that it has to be the government that changes it. Then the argument is presented with the new premise that health care must be reformed by adding bureaucracy and if you don't agree with that then you must not want anything to happen and therefore you are evil, want children to die and probably kick puppies when no one is looking.

Any time you start with a bad premise you have a weak and most of the time unsupportable argument. Change is only good if it improves a process. As any good lawyer will tell you, you never ask a question that you don't know the answer to. The same can be said of changing our system of health care. You only change it to something that you know will improve the process so in this case I say no change is better than a change in the direction of the current plans in Washington.

Here are some simple steps that will cost the tax payers nothing:

Tort Reform.

Sell Insurance across State lines to increase competition.

Multiply tax credits for business that provide insurance to workers.

Remove quotas from medical schools to increase the number of doctors. An increase in the supply of doctors will lower the cost by increasing competition.

Push the Medicare/caid and Social Security eligibility age up by five years.

Ban all publicly funded medical care for non-emergency treatment of illegal aliens.

Allow for the creation of non-business related insurance groups and provide tax credits for individuals or groups who buy personal insurance for themselves or relatives and friends.

Not a single one of these line items costs tax payers a penny that they do not volunteer. These are simple to implement and would be a good start. The bill would be about 20 pages long and everyone could read it before they vote on it.

White House Takes Aim at Critics of New Breast Cancer Guidelines

White House Takes Aim at Critics of New Breast Cancer Guidelines - FOXNews.com

The USPSTF, which reports to the Department of Health and Human Services, released its updated 2009 guidelines on Monday. It recommended against routine screening of women aged 40 to 49 years -- despite acknowledging evidence in the report that mammograms have reduced the mortality rate in younger women.
The task force advises that women aged 50 to 74 receive mammograms every other year and recommends against teaching breast self-examinations. The task force recommended in 2002 that all women over 40 should undergo a mammography every one to two years.
The panel says the recommendations apply to women 40 years or older "who are not at increased risk for breast cancer by virtue of a known underlying genetic mutation or a history of chest radiation."
In response, the American Cancer Society issued a statement Tuesday saying it still recommends annual mammograms for women 40 and over.
"Our experts make this recommendation having reviewed virtually all the same data reviewed by the USPSTF, but also additional data that the USPSTF did not consider," ACS said. "The USPSTF says that screening 1,339 women in their 50s to save one life makes screening worthwhile in that age group. Yet USPSTF also says screening 1,904 women ages 40 to 49 in order to save one life is not worthwhile. ... With its new recommendations, the USPSTF is essentially telling women that mammography at age 40 to 49 saves lives; just not enough of them."

Hope: A useless emotional response better off replaced by action.
Healthcare: Not yet.
Civil Rights: The Civil Rights Act was voted on during a GoP majority having a much higher percent of GoP voting for it than Dems. Kennedy voted for it. Kudos.
Change: Never confuse motion with progress. Nearly every appointee he has worked for Bill Clinton. Not much of a change.
SCHIP: A ridiculous piece of legislation that provides free health insurance to children in families with incomes up to $80k who are eligible for group insurance at work.
COBRA: The MOST expensive health care available anywhere.
OSHA: Ok, a good one. Kudos.
FEC: Never mind.
Title IX. A piece of legislation that’s states that a school must spend the same amount per female as male student. Never mind that in the NCAA a team make make $100 million on say… Football.
Minimum Wage: The most destructive law ever written as far as unemployment goes. Every time it goes up, so does unemployment.
Voting Rights: Kudos
WIC: No idea what that is.
WORK: All hail the labor unions who single handedly destroyed all US paper mills and the US Auto Industry.
Fair Housing: Great Idea, Kudos.
Immigration Reform: My ass.
Mental Health Parity Act: I probably need to take advantage of this program.
Education: Oh yes. The destruction of the greatest education system on the planet by giving the education union priority over the student’s needs.Progress: I’m guessing this is the same progress used in the word “Progressive” which means slow movement toward a thinly veiled socialist agenda. No wonder I disn’t care for him.

Cult of the People Who Get It

We are a guild of free thinkers. We have cast off the chains of the agreements that were made for us by our Mothers and Fathers and agreed to join together for mutual profit and the benefit of exchanging ideas with people who own their own soul and destiny.

I you are easily offended you should save yourself the angst and leave now. A person who is easily offended has surrendered their mind and emotions to the negative energy and whims of an unpolished all too often malignant society.

There is no group thought. A group of thinkers can come together and discuss their own personal property of ideas and beliefs and even develop a mantra that they agree is the mantra of the group but the group does not exist except for the collection of individuals and their exchange of the fruit of their minds.

A man's freedom lies in his mind and cannot be taken save by surrender. I WILL NOT. Words like consensus are designed to alienate the individual who dares to think outside of the box. I do not seek a consensus! I seek an open and honest debate where I will offer my intellectual property in exchange for yours.

I would like to thank you for joining this group and offering to me and the other members your time and most of all your mind. Men can enslave your body and dominate your time with physical chains and constraints but your minds are free and I will thank you in advance for using them here.

Killing People Sucks

Something odd happened this past week. The final snap if you will. Some ass, who professes to be a “soldier of God,” killed another abortion doctor. While I was reading about that I looked and some Jihadist had blown up 13 more people in Baghdad. Just about the time I started my own personal tirade if indignation over the bombing I suddenly realized that I do see all of Islam as terrorists. That just isn’t right.

Then I tried to swap sides for a moment. Do all those who are peaceful Islamic people in the middle east see America as a huge Christian Crusade? Do they think that we are in Iraq to cleanse the world of Islam? Do they see Christians the same way most westerners see Islam?

We have a lot of work to do...

Fathers day

The measure of a man is often times more defined by his peers than his own code. Dad's code was very simple. It was summed up in a few short phrases. Integrity was the standard. Al Hines did not lie. If he told you that a turtle could pull a plow... You'd better hitch 'em to it. If integrity was that standard then his affable charm and gregarious nature was his flag. He never met a stranger. He loved to meet new people. In a room full of people he would know all the names in just a few moments and most of the kid’s names too...

If the truth be known as many of you know while he might 'like' you when he met you, he loved children. Every size and color he just loved children. Growing up as his children and then young adults was never dull. He was not always easy to deal with but he was fair and very hands off. He raised us brothers with two rules. Rule One: Do NOT embarrass me. He would say, "Up until now your last name is an asset. Now it is yours to do with as you choose." Rule Two: Do NOT upset your mother. For any of you who knew our mother this became the one guiding rule that could get you in more trouble, more quickly, from more directios and with the direst consequence you can imagine. The most feared phrase in our house was Mom threatening, "Don't make me tell your Dad!" That was even more dangerous than the flying pink house shoe.....

.. ..

The marker that a man sets out is often unintentional. For most young boys a father is the one indelible mark. You gauge and measure yourself against them every day and in every way. Many times you strive to emulate them and in others you "wind up" emulating them. Sometimes it is by embracing their examples and others by avoiding their mistakes. Either way, it is inevitable that every man becomes a measure of his father. ....

.. ..

As markers go "Hero" is the biggest and he will always be my hero. I don't think he would have liked that word much but it fits nonetheless. As boys we always expected him to rip off that three piece suit, his clothes were always just so, and out pops a cape. For our eyes it never happened but in my minds eye I can see so many times when it did. As he fiercely protected his family, as he looked after his siblings, as he sat with our dieing Mother, as he rescued us brothers and in the end as he finally did his last task. He took his last little tour of Excel and then laid down and went to sleep. He will always be my hero.

Happy Father's Day Dad, we miss you!

Who is John Galt?

Please go out and get "Atlas Shrugged" by Ayn Rand. Read it. It was written 1957 and looks like it was ripped from today's headlines.

We need a hero. Not Ronald Reagan, John Wayne or Winston Churchill. We need John Galt. Who is John Galt?
